"Christ the King: Paradox and Wisdom"

Sunday, November 26, 2017

David Rensberger reminds us that when we celebrate Christ the King, we must remember that he is a king of paradox. Matthew pictures him as a king who is encountered in his most vulnerable subjects, and who judges on the basis not only of justice but of compassion. When Ephesians says that he is seated at God's right hand with all things under his feet, and that he fills all in all, it portrays Christ in terms of divine Wisdom, through whom all creation came into being, and by whom it still is guided and filled with divine presence.  Click to watch.
