"Trough Times"

Sunday, November 18, 2018 - 26th Sunday after Pentecost

The trough of the wave is the lowest point, where the horizon disappears. It can seem disorienting, empty, and without direction. It can seem as though nothing is happening...or will ever happen. And yet, the crest of another wave comes again. We too find ourselves in periods of waiting and stagnation, times that seem disorienting or empty, times when we cannot see horizon. What do we do in those trough times before the crest comes again? What does Jesus say when the world seems to be in disorienting chaos?
