Oakhurst Baptist Church currently has four choirs:
The Sanctuary Choir, directed by Karen Shipp, is noted for its
excellence in performing great choral music from Renaissance to contemporary.
The Gospel Choir, also directed by Karen Shipp, is an adult choir which
brings the inspiring sounds of Gospel Music to Oakhurst worship.
Oakhurst has two children's choirs, The Carol Choir, directed by
Wayne Grinstead, for older singers and The Cherub Choir, Pat McNulty
directing, for younger musicians. Oakhurst was one of the first Baptist churches in the
Atlanta area to have a childrens choir program in the 1940s. The purpose now is the
same as then, to provide children a program which can improve their singing voice, help
develop character, enrich culture and aid in the total work of the church.
