Oakhurst Library

Hours

The Oakhurst Baptist Church Library is open whenever the building is open. Self service check out procedures are posted on the desk. A library committee member is usually available for assistance for about fifteen minutes after Sunday worship service.

Collection

The Oakhurst Library contains many excellent resources for theological study, Baptist history, books and articles written by Oakhurst members, and a wide variety of other topics. There are also a number of classic adult fiction books. We subscribe to many periodicals, all of which may be checked out. In the children’s collection, there are picture books, “easy” readers, and fiction titles. There are also DVD video recordings of worship services available for check out in the library.

Searching for a Book

The library uses the Dewey Decimal Classification system. You can search for books and other media in our collection by (1) browsing the shelves, (2) looking in the printed lists contained in notebooks on top of the card catalog cabinets or (3) searching online by clicking on the following link: http://catalog.ourlibraryonline.com/start.php?a=OAKHSTGA. No password required, just type in the book title, author or subject.

Donations

Donations to the library are welcomed; however, the library committee will determine which donated books or other media are appropriate for addition to our collection. Please contact the committee if you have questions about donations.

Circulation

All materials may be checked out for a two-week period. Materials may be renewed. There is no limit to the number of items a patron may check out. There is no late fee, but a member who loses a book or other material or does not return the material within 6 months will be asked to replace or pay for the items at the discretion of the committee chair.
